We created this booklet with a matte pebble coating that shows up extremely well on white, contrasted with a high gloss UV coating.
Challenge accepted. When the agency for Fujifilm Canada brought us a booklet printed for the U.S. division of the company and said, "we have to duplicate this effect," our inside voice said "what the hell is it?" and our outside voice said, "no problem." We worked with our ink and coating suppliers to solve the mystery, creating a booklet with a matte pebble coating that shows up extremely well on white, contrasted with a high gloss UV coating. We call the matte effect "drip coating," which doesn't sound that appealing. But we dare you to resist running your fingers from shiny to matte on these pages.
